Your Pie Experience

This weekend I made a trip to Your Pie with my younger sister. I have been there before, but this was the first time I noticed the care they took for my allergy. They have locations all over the Southeast, but I have only been to the one in Buckhead. I don’t know if the same allergy precautions are taken at all of their locations, but based on the care of the Buckhead location I would hope they are all the same.

When I walked in there was a sign listing all of their ingredients that contain gluten and a disclaimer that they cannot be responsible for any cross contamination. I am okay with a little cross contamination, so as long as they have gluten free crust I am usually fine, but this time I didn’t even have to worry about cross contamination because they were so careful.

When I ordered a gluten free pizza the server asked if it is an allergy or a preference. When I said allergy he immediately took off his gloves and walked over to the sink. He washed his hands and was so careful to not even touch the sink again without a paper towel after he washed his hands to avoid any residual crumbs. He then picked up a notepad and a pen and asked what I would like on my pizza. He then went into the back to put sauce and cheese on the pizza and came out with clean gloves (the other gloves were right next to the gluten contained flour) and the pizza in an aluminum tray. He then added the chicken from a fridge below the counter (the other chicken was out on the counter) and stuck it in the oven on the aluminum tray he brought the pizza out with. He then proceeded to make my sisters gluten filled pizza after everything was done with my pizza to ensure it was as gluten free as possible.

I have had other gluten free pizza’s in the area that I enjoy just as much, if not better, but none of them have instilled the confidence in me that they are 100% gluten free. Your Pie made me feel safe about enjoying Pizza out at a location that also serves Gluten.
